Extended Aeration Activated Sludge (EAAS) systems are often used to remove suspended organic matter in sewage and stabilize the insoluble organic matter. 

In this case, the biomass grows as flocculent slurry by oxidizing organic matter under aerobic conditions, and, quiescent sedimentation removes the biomass, producing an effluent, which low in suspended solids. The settled biomass is recycled as concentrated slurry back to the bioreactor, while the excess biomass is wasted to control the solids retention time.

Sequencing Batch Reactor Activated Sludge system (SBR) is designed to operate in batch mode with aeration and sludge settlement both occurring in the same tank.
The installation consists of at least two identically equipped tanks, which can be switched between them. While one tank is in settle/decant mode the other is aerating and filling.
The operating principles of a SBR are characterized in fill, react, settle, draw and idle.

Fiber Reinforced Plastic (FRP) Package Treatment Plant are factory assembled activated sludge treatment units and are designed to serve for small-scale development.
Instead of having Pumping Stations with a several kilometers of force main to pump the sewage to a Centralized Sewage Treatment Plant,
you can have such treatment plant in with less space and minimum construction cost. They can be readily transported from factory to site and set up on a concrete slab.
